Who it's for (and who it isn't)

The obvious crowd: kids (adult kids especially) buying for dads who are impossible to shop for. If your dad's response to "what do you want for Father's Day?" is "nothing" or "socks," this cuts through that in a way a gift card never will. We see a lot of orders from daughters, specifically — there's something about a daughter turning her dad into a superhero that lands differently than anything else we make. How it's made

You upload a photo, and our system uses AI-assisted face mapping to composite Dad's likeness into the superhero scene — cape, suit, dramatic lighting and all. That composite goes to one of our portrait artists for manual refinement: they check facial proportions, skin tone matching, and edge blending before anything gets approved for print. Honest reality: we reject about 1 in 12 generated versions internally because the face doesn't lock well onto the costume anatomy — either the angle is off or the lighting reads fake. When that happens, we run a second generation rather than send something mediocre. Once approved, the final file goes to our print lab on museum-grade canvas with UV-resistant inks, stretched over a 1.5" pine frame. Our head of production, Maya Chen, has a rule: if she wouldn't hang it in her own house, it doesn't ship.

What makes this different

Generic superhero gifts — the ones on Etsy or big-box sites — are mostly clipart face-cut-outs. They slap a PNG of your dad's face into a template and call it custom. What we're doing is different: the face is composited and then hand-refined, so the lighting on Dad's face actually matches the scene. That's not a small thing. Care and shipping

Canvas is sealed and UV-resistant out of the box — just hang it away from sustained direct steam (bathrooms with no ventilation are a bad idea) and wipe with a dry or barely-damp cloth if it gets dusty. US orders ship in 5–7 business days; EU and UK customers should expect 7–14 business days. If you need it by Father's Day (June 15, 2025), order by June 8th for standard shipping — after that, contact us directly and we'll see what we can do. If the portrait isn't right for any reason within 60 days of delivery, we'll reprint or refund. No interrogation. That policy has been the same since we launched in 2022 and we haven't changed it.
