How it's made

You upload a clear photo of the father and child together — ideally face-forward, decent natural light, nothing too backlit. Our system runs the image through an AI-assisted line-extraction pass that traces facial structure, jawlines, and the relationship geometry between the two faces. That draft goes straight to a human artist on our production team who refines the stroke weight, corrects any distortion around the eyes (the hardest part to get right in line art), and adds the calligraphic name script. Honestly, we discard about 1 in 10 initial generations because the faces don't resolve cleanly enough — blurry uploads, heavy shadows, or profiles that are turned too far from camera. When that happens, we reach out before printing, not after. The final file is printed at 300 DPI on museum-grade canvas and hand-stretched over a solid pine frame. The whole cycle from upload to shipped is typically 3–5 business days in production before it even hits the carrier.

What makes this different

Generic line-drawing prints you find on Etsy are mostly semi-automated vector traces with no artist review — what you get is what the algorithm spits out. We've seen them. US orders ship in 5–7 business days from dispatch; EU and UK customers should allow 7–14 business days — customs clearance occasionally adds a day or two on the European side, which is outside our control and we'd rather tell you upfront than have you chase us. The canvas is wrapped in protective foam and boxed flat — we stopped rolling canvases in tubes in early 2024 because too many arrived with crease lines. For care: wipe dust with a dry microfibre cloth, keep it out of direct sunlight over long periods (the ink holds well but no canvas likes sustained UV), and don't hang it in a bathroom. If anything about the portrait isn't right within 60 days of delivery, we reprint or refund — no form to fill out, just email us with the order number.
