How it's made

You upload your photo — ideally front-facing, decent lighting, nothing too backlit — and our system runs an AI face-placement pass that maps your family's faces onto the comic illustration base. That part takes a few minutes. What most competitors skip is what happens next: every output goes through a manual review pass by one of our production artists, who checks face lock quality, color balance, and whether any face looks smeared or off-axis. We reject about 1 in 12 generations at that stage and re-run. The approved composition then gets color-graded for canvas output (screens and canvas behave differently — saturation has to be dialed back about 15% or it prints garish), and the final file is sent to print on a 380gsm museum-grade canvas with UV-resistant inks. The canvas ships rolled in a hard tube for sizes up to 16×20, and flat-packed with corner protection for 24×36. Keep it out of direct sustained sunlight — the UV-resistant inks hold well, but no canvas loves a south-facing window at high noon indefinitely. Dusting with a dry microfiber cloth is all the maintenance it needs; no sprays. If you're not satisfied with the portrait for any reason, we have a 60-day satisfaction policy: contact us, show us the issue, and we'll reprint or refund. We've honored that policy on orders going back to 2022 and we don't argue about it.
