How it's made

You upload a photo — ideally a clear front-facing shot with decent light, though we've worked with worse. Our system generates an initial face-swap into the Renaissance scene using a fine-tuned diffusion model trained on classical oil-painting datasets, then a human artist on our production team reviews the output for likeness accuracy, skin tone consistency, and whether the composition looks like a painting rather than a photo with a costume pasted on. That last part is where the work actually happens. We discard about 1 in 12 generations at this stage — Maya Chen, our head of production, has a firm rule that if she wouldn't hang it in her own hallway, it doesn't ship. Once approved, the file goes to our canvas printing partner and gets output on 400gsm museum-grade poly-cotton canvas, stretched over a solid pine frame, and sealed with a UV-resistant matte coat that should hold color for 75+ years in normal indoor conditions.

US orders ship in 5–7 business days; EU and UK customers should expect 7–14 days depending on customs clearance (Germany and the Netherlands tend to be on the faster end; Italy and Spain can stretch to 14). The canvas ships rolled in a protective tube or flat-packed with foam corners depending on size — we switched to the foam-corner flat pack for anything over 16×20 in early 2024 after too many corner-dent complaints, and the damage rate dropped to near zero. Hang in a spot away from direct sunlight and high humidity; the UV coat handles ambient light fine, but a south-facing window at noon will fade anything over time.
