How it's made

You upload a clear photo — ideally front-facing, decent lighting, nothing with heavy filters applied — and our system runs it through an AI face-generation pass to composite your subject into the LifeTransition scene. Here's the part most sites don't mention: we discard about 1 in 12 of those initial generations internally because the face doesn't lock right. Skin tone's off, the angle's fighting the composition, something's wrong with the eyes. Those never reach an artist. The ones that do pass get a second round of human refinement — adjusting lighting, matching skin undertones, softening any uncanny-valley artifacts the AI introduced. After that it goes to our print team, who run it on genuine museum-grade canvas with a semi-matte varnish finish. Our head of production, Maya Chen, has been pretty firm that we don't cut the varnish step to save time: "That coat is what separates a canvas that looks like a canvas from something that looks like an inkjet print on fabric." She's right — and she enforces it.

What makes this different

Generic custom portrait sites give you your photo printed bigger. That's it. The face is the same flat photo, just scaled up and stuck on canvas. When people give us a clean photo and an honest occasion, this theme lands. The issue is when someone uploads a decade-old photo and expects it to look current. We flag those now before production even starts.

Care and shipping

US orders ship in 5–7 business days from when you approve the final proof; EU and international orders run 7–14 business days depending on customs. Canvas is varnish-coated and wipe-clean — avoid direct prolonged sunlight if you want the colors to hold over years, not just months. If something arrives damaged or the likeness is genuinely off, we have a 60-day satisfaction policy: contact us, show us the issue, and we'll reprint or refund. We don't make that difficult. (We've processed enough returns to know that the cost of a reprint is always less than the cost of a frustrated customer leaving a review.)
