Can you ship to a P.O. Box?
Yes, but please note: P.O. Box orders can only ship via USPS standard service — there is no faster/expedited option for P.O. Boxes. This means delivery takes longer than usual, and tracking can be slow or show limited updates between hand-off and delivery.

For larger canvas sizes (L & XL) we'll need a physical street address, as these can't be delivered to a P.O. Box. Whenever possible, please use a street address at checkout for the fastest, fully-tracked delivery.

The scene

Two photos, forty years apart, in one painting: the two of you today on the top row of the old school bleachers at golden hour, maples blazing and the goalposts far behind, and in a glowing oval in the sky the two of you as teenagers on the same bleachers, painted from your old photo. This Then and Now portrait sorts the photos by age, so the teenagers go in the oval and today’s faces in front, in warm autumn oil.

TL;DR: An oil painting of two lifelong best friends today on the old school bleachers, with the two of them as teenagers in a glowing oval, painted from your photos: each person keeps their own face and age. Free preview first.

Who it’s for

A woman giving it to her best friend for a milestone birthday (60, 65 or 70), the anniversary of the year they met, a retirement or Christmas, or keeping it for her own wall: friends who have been through the weddings, the babies, the moves and the grandchildren together.

How it’s made

Upload one photo of the two of you today and one old photo of the two of you back then: the page finds each person in a photo, and this design takes at most four people in all. Lay the old print flat by a window and photograph it straight on with your phone. A free preview appears in minutes, with no payment. If you order, an artist checks the portrait, and nothing is printed until you approve it.

What makes it different

Most best-friend gifts are a name-and-date print or a cartoon of two stick figures. This one paints the two of you, with your own faces, into a scene from the friendship, the way it felt: the porch, the coast road, the Christmas shopping day, the place you met.

Veelgestelde vragen

Which photos do I upload?

One photo of the two of you today and one old photo of the two of you back then. The page finds each person in a photo; this design takes at most four people in all. Lay the old print flat by a window and photograph it straight on, with no glare on the faces.

How does it know who goes in the oval?

It sorts the people by age: the two of you as teenagers go in the oval, today’s faces in front. With only today’s photo, it paints the two of you without the oval.

Can I use a faded or black-and-white photo?

Yes. Faded, orange-tinted and black-and-white prints come out in warm, natural colour, and each person keeps the age they are in the photo.

Will it look like a couple portrait?

No. It is painted with the body language of old friends: side by side, laughing. If something should be different, write it in the order note: an artist reads every note, and nothing is printed until you approve it.

Kan ik vóór aankoop een voorbeeld zien?

Ja.
