What are the production times?
• Canvas: printed, stretched and quality-checked in 6–8 business days after you order, then tracked shipping (3–5 business days in the US, 5–10 international), free
• Poster: printed in 6–8 business days, then the same tracked shipping
• Digital (no notes): instant download right after payment
• Digital with custom notes: you will receive the standard version instantly, then the edited version with your custom requests will be emailed within 24 business hours by our artists

Production starts once we receive your photo and payment.
Can you ship to a P.O. Box?
Yes, but please note: P.O. Box orders can only ship via USPS standard service — there is no faster/expedited option for P.O. Boxes. This means delivery takes longer than usual, and tracking can be slow or show limited updates between hand-off and delivery.

For larger canvas sizes (L & XL) we'll need a physical street address, as these can't be delivered to a P.O. Box. Whenever possible, please use a street address at checkout for the fastest, fully-tracked delivery.

The scene

The evening the training wheels came off, around 1988: a red bike with handlebar streamers and a white basket, the grown-up running alongside with a hand ready, the little brother cheering on the lawn, long golden shadows down the street and a wood-panelled station wagon in the driveway. This First Bike Ride portrait paints the young parent and the little ones in glowing summer-evening impasto oil.

How it’s made

Upload one photo of the family back then, or a separate photo of each person, up to six photos (a photo of two to four people brings each of them). Lay an old print flat by a window and photograph it straight on with your phone. A free preview appears in minutes, with no payment. If you order, an artist checks the portrait, and nothing is printed until you approve it.

What makes it different

Most family portraits are painted from a recent photo. This one is painted from the photos in the shoebox: the parent at thirty, the kids at four and six, in a scene from the ordinary years, so the painting looks the way that time felt.

Can I use an old, faded or black-and-white photo?

Yes. Lay the print flat by a window and take a straight photo of it with your phone, with no glare on the faces. Faded, orange-tinted and black-and-white prints come out in warm, natural colour, and each person is painted at the age they are in that photo.

What if I don’t have a photo of everyone together?

Upload each person’s own photo: a snapshot of the parent from those years and a school picture of each child work well. Up to six photos; the painting holds exactly the people you upload.

What happens if I upload a photo from today?

Everyone is painted as they are in the photo, so a photo from today paints the parent and the grown kids at today’s ages in the same scene. To paint them little again, use a photo from back then.

Can both parents, or three children, be in it?

Yes. The scene is drawn for a parent and two children, and the painting follows the photos you upload: Mom and Dad with three kids works. Use photos where every face is clear; the free preview shows each face before you order.
