I haven't received my digital order yet?
Please check your spam or promotions folder first. If you still can't find it, contact us at contact@portraitgift.com with your name and checkout email.

It may have been sent to the email linked to your PayPal or card provider (Visa/Mastercard via Stripe).
Can you change the hairstyle / eye color / etc?
Yes! Add your request in the custom note at checkout. Our artists will personalize your artwork within 24 business hours.

You can request unlimited revisions until you're happy with the result.
What are the production times?
• Canvas: printed, stretched and quality-checked in 6–8 business days after you order, then tracked shipping (3–5 business days in the US, 5–10 international), free
• Poster: printed in 6–8 business days, then the same tracked shipping
• Digital (no notes): instant download right after payment
• Digital with custom notes: you will receive the standard version instantly, then the edited version with your custom requests will be emailed within 24 business hours by our artists

Production starts once we receive your photo and payment.
Can you ship to a P.O. Box?
Yes, but please note: P.O. Box orders can only ship via USPS standard service — there is no faster/expedited option for P.O. Boxes. This means delivery takes longer than usual, and tracking can be slow or show limited updates between hand-off and delivery.

For larger canvas sizes (L & XL) we'll need a physical street address, as these can't be delivered to a P.O. Box. Whenever possible, please use a street address at checkout for the fastest, fully-tracked delivery.

Envelop Yourself in Candlelight and Mystery

Picture yourself or a loved one enveloped in the warm glow of a candlelit study—the heart of Dark Academia. Every portrait is steeped in the mystery and intellectual depth reminiscent of a secret library after hours.

Dressed in rich hues of mahogany and deep green, your portrait comes to life in the classic, brooding style of Dark Academia. It's a seamless blend of personal likeness and timeless elegance, where knowledge and intrigue dance in the shadows.

TL;DR: This custom Dark Academia portrait is perfect for those who cherish mystery and intellectual gatherings, making it an ideal gift for birthdays, anniversaries, or graduation.

Who truly resonates with the Dark Academia vibe?

This portrait speaks to the intellectually curious—those who find beauty in candlelit libraries and late-night study sessions. It's perfect for your cousin graduating from a literature program, or even your partner who thrives in scholarly debates. However, if your recipient isn't fond of dark, moody settings, this might not be their cup of tea.

How we bring your academic fantasy to life

We start by blending your uploaded photo into a curated Dark Academia backdrop using AI face-swap technology. Our head of production, Maya, ensures quality by discarding about 1 in 12 initial generations that don't capture the mood. The finished image is then artistically refined and printed on museum-quality canvas.

Why choose a Candlelit Study over a generic canvas?

Unlike generic themed canvases, our Candlelit Study portrait captures a unique, intimate charm as if painted in a bygone era. With each theme retired after six months, this keeps your piece exclusive and cherished.
