How it's made

You upload a photo — ideally front-facing, reasonably lit, at least 800px wide, though we'll work with what we've got. Our system runs it through a fine-tuned image model trained specifically on royal portraiture styles: oil-painting textures, formal pose framing, period-accurate costuming. Here's the part we don't hide: we generate multiple versions per order and discard about 1 in 12 because the face doesn't lock correctly — the likeness drifts, or the lighting on the face clashes with the background. Only after a version passes that internal check does it go to one of our human artists, who refines the facial features, adjusts color balance, and signs off before it's sent to print. Print happens on 400gsm museum-grade canvas with UV-resistant inks. Once you approve your portrait preview (we send a digital proof before printing), production takes 2–3 business days. US delivery runs 5–7 business days after that; EU and UK customers should expect 7–14 business days. Expedited options are available at checkout if you're cutting it close on a birthday. The canvas itself needs nothing special — no direct sunlight for extended periods, wipe dust with a dry cloth. If anything's off when it arrives — wrong face, color's weird, canvas is damaged in transit — our 60-day satisfaction policy covers a reprint or refund, no interrogation required. One honest note: we can't do full reprints after 60 days, so don't sit on it if something looks wrong.
