How it's made

You upload a photo — ideally front-facing with decent lighting, though we've salvaged some genuinely rough shots — and our system uses an AI face-swap pipeline to composite your subject into the Stay Strong portrait composition. That's the fast part. The slower part is the artist refinement pass: a real human on our production team reviews the output, adjusts facial details that went wrong (the AI struggles most with glasses and side-profile shots, honestly), corrects color balance, and checks that the final piece actually looks like the person. We discard about 1 in 12 generations at that stage because the face lock isn't clean enough — you never see those. What you get to preview and approve is already past that filter. After approval, the portrait is printed on museum-quality stretched canvas using fade-resistant archival inks, inspected by our head of production Maya Chen's team, and packed flat for shipping.

Once your portrait is approved, production takes 2-3 business days. US shipping runs 5-7 days after that; EU customers should expect 7-14 days. Canvas arrives rolled or flat-packed depending on size — we've had almost zero transit damage reports since we upgraded packaging in March 2024, but it does happen occasionally. If your canvas arrives creased, torn, or if the likeness just doesn't look right after you hang it, reach out within 60 days and we'll reprint or refund, no lengthy back-and-forth required. To care for the canvas: keep it out of direct sunlight if you can, and a dry microfiber cloth handles dust fine — no sprays, no damp cloths near the printed surface.
