A made-to-order portrait starts earlier: the artwork is reviewed, printed, stretched and quality-checked before carrier transit begins. This calculator includes both parts. Choose the destination and occasion date, and it works backwards from PortraitGift’s measured order-to-carrier production range plus the carrier-published regional transit range. The result is an estimated date to order on or before — not a promise dressed up as a countdown.
The “ordered today” window updates from today’s date in your browser. For an occasion, the slower end of the range sets the main order-by date; the faster end is shown only as a clearly labelled, higher-risk boundary. If your date falls on a weekend, the tool plans for the preceding Friday so the gift is already in hand rather than arriving after the celebration.
A delivery planner, not another gift finder
This page owns one decision: when to order a personalized physical gift. To choose what to give, use the AI gift finder; to set a budget, use the gift amount calculator; for anniversary materials and milestones, use anniversary gifts by year; and once the portrait is chosen, the gift message generator writes the card. Keeping those jobs separate gives each tool one honest answer.
Dates can still move. Weekends are handled, but public holidays, customs, severe weather and the time a customer spends requesting revisions are not predictable from a browser. Add buffer when the event cannot move. If the physical window has already passed, the result says so plainly and points to the Digital HD option, which is delivered by email after ordering so there is still something personal to present on the day.

How is the personalized gift order-by date calculated?
The calculator combines PortraitGift’s measured order-to-carrier production range with the carrier-published regional transit range for the destination. It subtracts the slower end of that total from the date the gift needs to be in hand. The faster boundary is shown for context, but it is not presented as a safe deadline.
Are the delivery dates guaranteed?
No. They are estimates, not guarantees. The calculator excludes weekends and uses the measured production range plus carrier-published regional transit ranges, but it cannot predict public holidays, customs delays, severe weather, carrier disruption or extra time spent on artwork revisions. Add buffer for a fixed event.
What if my birthday, anniversary or wedding is on a weekend?
The planner moves the delivery target back to the preceding Friday. That way the order-by date aims to put the gift in your hands before the event rather than treating a Saturday or Sunday as a normal carrier day.
What if it is too late for a physical canvas?
The result will say when the current canvas window misses or overlaps the occasion instead of promising an impossible date. Digital HD is delivered by email after ordering, so it can be presented on the day while a physical canvas follows later.
Does the calculator save my occasion or date?
No. The destination, occasion and date are used only in this browser and are not saved. Analytics record fixed categories such as destination region, occasion type and timing verdict, but never the date you enter, the calculated order-by date or copied plan.
