How it's made

You upload a photo — ideally a clear, well-lit shot of your pitbull's face, straight-on or at a slight angle. Our system feeds that into a fine-tuned generative AI model trained specifically on Renaissance portraiture, which composites your dog's facial structure into a period-accurate composition: dramatic chiaroscuro lighting, rich jewel-toned backgrounds, the whole thing. Here's what most brands don't tell you: we reject about 1 in 12 of those initial generations because the face mapping doesn't hold — the snout geometry drifts, or the eyes lose specificity. When a generation passes that quality bar, a human artist on our production team does a refinement pass to sharpen likeness details and correct any artifacts before the file goes to print. It then gets printed on 1.5-inch gallery-wrapped canvas using archival, UV-resistant inks. Our head of production, Maya Chen, is blunt about this: "A portrait where the dog doesn't look like the dog is a failed order, and we'd rather catch it ourselves than ship it and deal with a disappointed customer." US orders ship in 5-7 business days from the date your proof is approved; EU and UK customers are typically looking at 7-14 business days. The canvas ships rolled in a protective tube or flat in a rigid mailer depending on size — we switched to rigid mailers for anything under 16×20 in late 2024 after some corner-damage complaints, and that's helped. For care: keep the canvas out of direct sunlight if you can (UV inks help but they're not invincible), and wipe dust with a dry microfiber cloth — no sprays, no water. If you're unhappy with the portrait for any reason within 60 days of delivery, we'll redo it or refund it. That policy doesn't have a lot of exceptions.
