If you landed here, you probably almost ordered a custom portrait somewhere today and paused. Good. A personalized gift is worth ten minutes of diligence. Below is what buyers wrote, where to read the unhappy ones, and the rules that apply if something goes wrong.
Trustpilot at a glance
The reviews on this page come from Trustpilot's independent review platform — the same one you'd check for any e-commerce brand. Trustpilot doesn't let companies delete reviews, including ones that hurt; like any business, we can report a review we think breaks its rules, and Trustpilot decides. When we last checked (October 3, 2026), the profile showed 4.7 out of 5 across 652 reviews. That number moves as new reviews come in, so filter and count them yourself directly on Trustpilot rather than trusting a number we post here.
Recent reviews, in buyers' own words
Excerpts copied word for word from our Trustpilot profile.
“I was skeptical at first, but after talking myself into it, decided to give it a shot. The process turned out to be very simple, it was quickly done and the results were wonderful.”
P. Adams · 5 stars · July 2026 · Trustpilot
“This company is legit. They get back to you right away and make any adjustments you need. …”
Elisa C. · 5 stars · August 2026 · Trustpilot
“I ordered 6 portraits the first time in May 2026. I received them all within 2 weeks and they were all really beautiful and of great quality and ready to hang. …”
Vicki L. · 5 stars · July 2026 · Trustpilot
Those are three of the happy ones. For the unhappy ones, filter the profile to 1 and 2 stars and read them the same way.
How to read PortraitGift reviews like a skeptic
Three things we'd actually look at if we were shopping for a custom portrait from someone else:
- Filter to verified reviews. Trustpilot labels a review "Verified" when it has confirmed the reviewer's experience, for example through an invitation sent after an order. Use the filters on the profile to read only those.
- Scan the 2-star and 3-star ones, not the 5-stars. The 5-stars tell you the good outcomes already look good. The 2–3 star range tells you what the edge cases look like when things go wrong.
- Look at the replies. Trustpilot shows whether and how a company answers its negative reviews. A brand that ignores its negatives is either overwhelmed or indifferent.
If something goes wrong with your order
Before anything is printed: after you order a canvas or poster, we email you the finished artwork to check. Ask for as many changes as you need: unlimited revisions until you love it. If you don't reply within 48 hours, the artwork is approved automatically and goes to print. Digital-only orders are emailed to you when you order; if you asked for changes, the reworked file is approved automatically after 24 hours.
After that, these are the rules in our return and refund policy, in plain words:
- Damaged, or not what you approved: if your canvas arrives damaged or doesn't match the preview you approved, contact us with clear photos and we replace it or refund it. You don't need to send it back. Report a mistake in the photo within 7 days of receiving the canvas, and damage within 30 days of delivery.
- Lost in transit: contact us right away with the tracking details; we investigate and replace or refund it.
- Not covered: a change of mind, digital files, the style or likeness of a preview you approved, choosing the wrong size, a low-quality photo, courier delays, and slight colour differences between screens. Every portrait is made to order from your photo, which is why you see the preview before you pay.

Quick answers — the questions we get most
Is PortraitGift legit?
PortraitGift.com is operated by PortraitGift LLC. When we last checked (October 3, 2026), its Trustpilot profile showed 4.7 out of 5 across 652 reviews, and Trustpilot does not let companies delete reviews. You see your portrait on screen before you pay, and after you order a canvas or poster we email you the finished artwork to check before it goes to print.
What are the most common PortraitGift complaints?
Read them in the reviewers' own words: filter the Trustpilot profile to 1 and 2 stars. We point you to the reviews instead of summarizing them, because a summary written by us is not evidence.
Do you ever delete negative reviews?
We can't. Trustpilot does not let companies delete reviews. Like any business, we can report a review we think breaks Trustpilot's rules; Trustpilot decides.
How much does a portrait cost?
A digital download is $49, a glossy poster $89.99, and a canvas print from $144.99 (12×18 in) to $239.99 (24×36 in). You see your portrait before you pay. Sizes and options are on our customized portrait gift page.
How long does a canvas take to arrive?
Printed and stretched in 6–8 business days after you order, tracked shipping 3–5 business days in the US (5–10 international), free worldwide.
Where can I see all the reviews myself?
trustpilot.com/review/portraitgift.com. Filter by rating or date, and read the low ratings as well as the high ones.

Last updated October 4, 2026. The Trustpilot figure is a dated reading of the public profile, the review excerpts are copied word for word from it, the prices are our regular US-dollar prices, and the delivery times are the ones our cart and order pages show. If you spot a factual error, email support@portraitgift.com and we'll fix it.
