Choosing a scene only decides which real caricature product your free preview is generated on — nothing is transformed on this page. Your photo is only used to generate the preview. JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC, up to 12 MB.

A caricature, not a cartoon filter

A caricature and a cartoon are not the same thing, and searching for one and getting the other is the usual disappointment. A cartoon smooths a face into a clean animated style; a caricature does the opposite — it finds the features that make someone unmistakably themselves and turns them up. The big grin, the strong nose, the beloved bald head, the coffee-and-keyboard hunch: a good caricature exaggerates the truth rather than hiding it, which is exactly why it gets the laugh and the “that’s SO them” reaction a smooth portrait never will. If a cleaner animated look is what you actually want, the photo-to-cartoon tool is the one to use instead.

This generator leans into that exaggeration deliberately. You choose the scene — chef, doctor, superfan, retiree, wedding couple, whole family, the dog — and the caricatured character is drawn into it, so the finished piece is a little story about the person, not just a funny face on a plain background.

Pick the scene, then see it on a real product

The chooser above is doing something honest: every scene is a real caricature product we make, and picking one simply decides which product your free preview is generated on. There is no fake “transformed image” rendered on this page and no slider pretending to dial the exaggeration up or down — the caricature itself is created by the same AI pipeline behind our paid portraits, on the product page, after you upload. What you pick here just points that pipeline at the right scene.

Upload one clear photo (JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC), preview the caricature free, and only pay if you want it printed on gallery canvas. Wondering how big it can print? The free canvas size calculator tells you, and for animal subjects the pet portrait generator has styles composed around animal proportions.

How it works

  1. Pick who the caricature is of and choose a scene — the selection points your free preview at that real product.
  2. Upload one clear photo of them — JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC up to 12 MB.
  3. Preview the caricature free on the product page, then order it as a gallery canvas only if it makes you laugh.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between a caricature and a cartoon of my photo?

A cartoon restyles a face into a smooth, clean animated look; a caricature deliberately exaggerates the features that make someone recognisable — the grin, the nose, the hairline — for a funnier, more characterful result. This tool makes caricatures. If you want the smoother animated style instead, use the photo-to-cartoon tool.

Does this page transform my photo right here?

No — and we won’t pretend it does. The chooser only picks which real caricature product your free preview is generated on. The caricature itself is created by our AI pipeline on that product page after you upload, exactly like our paid portraits, so what you preview is genuinely what would print.

Can I make a caricature of a couple, a family, a pet or a coworker?

Yes — use the “who’s it of” buttons to switch between couple, one-person, family, pet and teacher scenes, and the deck shows only the real products that fit. Selecting a scene updates the upload handoff to that product.

Is the caricature drawn by a human artist?

No, and we say so plainly. The artwork is generated by AI trained on caricature illustration, then printed on gallery canvas — it is not a hand-drawn original, which is why a preview takes under a minute and costs nothing to see. If you’re making a gag gift of someone else, upload their photo with their blessing.

Got my boyfriend as a Greek god for his birthday — man-bun, beard, the lot. He’s insufferable now, but he loves it.

My frenchie as a little king is the funniest, most gorgeous thing I own. Identical to him — even the grumpy face!

Our anniversary pop-art canvas is SO us — they even kept his man-bun and my cat-eye glasses. Centrepiece of the hallway now.
