The most common buyer we see on this collection is someone shopping for a partner or close friend who leans into alt-culture — tabletop RPG nights, steampunk conventions, a wardrobe that's got at least one corset or waistcoat in the rotation. These aren't people who want a sentimental photo-collage blanket. They want something weird and beautiful on their wall. The second archetype is the history buff who leans toward the 19th century specifically — someone who's watched every episode of Ripper Street and knows the difference between a dirigible and a zeppelin. It's also the most photogenic of the male solo portraits when printed on our museum canvas. The Victorian Shadowlord Custom Portrait is darker and more dramatic — legitimately good for someone whose taste runs gothic or who plays a lot of dark fantasy games. Don't give it to your conventionally corporate uncle unless he specifically asked for something brooding.

For her, the Steampunk Sky Pirate Portrait for Her is genuinely the best of the women's options — there's a confidence in the composition that the other female-framed variants don't quite match. The Victorian Floral Costume Custom Portrait is softer and prettier if the recipient's taste leans more romantic than adventurous.

If you want something truly different — and I mean actually unlike anything else we sell — look at the Catrina Y Catrín Royal Couple Portrait at $59.90. It blends Día de los Muertos iconography with Victorian costume in a way that reads simultaneously festive and formal. We've shipped it for Día de los Muertos celebrations, Halloween anniversaries, and a few weddings where the couple specifically asked for something "not conventional." It's the outlier in this collection and probably the most striking piece in it, honestly.

One honest note: the Pirate Naval Commander Portrait for Him sits at the edge of this collection — it's naval and historical but not strictly steampunk. If someone's already bought a Viking or Pirate portrait elsewhere and wants a thematic sibling, it works. As a first steampunk purchase, we'd point you toward the Airship Captain instead.

Museum-canvas printing, hand-finished edges, arrives in 5-7 days in the US. This tier covers probably 85% of use cases.

$50–$100

The Catrina Y Catrín Royal Couple Portrait at $59.90 is the one meaningful step up in this collection. The extra cost reflects added compositional complexity — there's more going on in that artwork than in a single-subject piece. If you're gifting a couple for an anniversary or a significant occasion and $35 feels too light, this is the right move. You can also use this tier to upgrade any $35 portrait to a larger canvas size if that option matters to you.

$100+

We don't currently have a steampunk portrait sitting natively above $100 in this collection. Honestly? Some customers get there by ordering multiple pieces — a his-and-hers pair of the Airship Captain and Sky Pirate portraits to hang together, for instance. We've also had couples frame them as a diptych, which looks genuinely striking. If you want a custom framing option on top of the canvas, that's a conversation to have with us directly via the chat widget — we can sometimes arrange it.

These are real operational estimates based on our average production time (2-3 business days) plus carrier transit. We'll always tell you the honest date, not the optimistic one.

• Mother's Day (May 10, 2026): US order by May 3. Canada/UK order by April 26. International order by April 19.
• Father's Day (June 21, 2026): US order by June 14. Canada/UK order by June 7. International order by May 31.
• Halloween (October 31, 2026): US order by October 22. International order by October 8. (The Shadowlord and Catrina portraits peak here — order early, we do get backlogged.)
• Thanksgiving/Hanukkah (late November 2026): US order by November 20. International by November 6.
• Christmas (December 25, 2026): US order by December 17 for standard. December 14 if you want breathing room. UK/EU order by December 7. International by November 30 — this is firm, we can't guarantee otherwise.
• Valentine's Day (February 14, 2027): US order by February 7. International by January 24.
• Birthdays and "just because": US standard is 5-7 business days from order confirmation. We ship Monday–Saturday.

If you're cutting it close, message us before ordering. We'd rather tell you it's not possible than have you disappointed.

The steampunk collection surprised us, honestly. We expected it to be a niche novelty — something cosplayers order once. What we actually saw was strong repeat purchase behavior, which tells you the quality is holding up in people's homes months later.
