In the US: 5–7 business days total from order to doorstep. That covers 2–4 days of production plus 2–3 days of shipping. International orders (EU, UK, Australia, Canada) run 7–14 business days, sometimes longer during peak seasons like November and December. If you have a hard deadline — a birthday party, a holiday morning — order at least 10 business days in advance for US addresses. 21 days for international, especially around Christmas.

Is a custom portrait appropriate as a gift from a teacher or godparent, or does it feel too personal?

It's actually one of the better options for exactly those relationships, because it's personal without being intimate. A portrait of a child as a fairy or superhero is celebratory and fun — it's not an heirloom jewelry situation or anything that requires a close relationship to land right. We can't always say yes, especially if the theme requires illustration work that's outside our current artist roster. We retired our 'angel baby memorial' theme in mid-2024 because the quality wasn't where we wanted it. It's not currently available.

What size canvas should I order for a child's bedroom?

Honestly, go one size larger than your gut says. The 16×20 is the most commonly ordered size and the most commonly regretted — not because it's bad, but because it gets lost on a bedroom wall, especially above a bed. We'd recommend 18×24 as a starting point for most kids' bedrooms, and 24×36 if the wall above the dresser or desk has real space. For a nursery or a small room, 16×20 is fine. The portrait itself looks great at any size — it's purely a wall-proportion question.

What if my child doesn't like their portrait?

This almost never happens — kids tend to react with full theatrical enthusiasm. But if there's a quality issue, an error in the design, or if the final portrait looks noticeably different from what was previewed, we'll reprint or refund.
